Debut jazz album from Zach Hill. An eclectic exploration of themes varying from dark to whimsical. Some songs are adaptations of 19th century poetry, others are thematic to classical literature or popular cinema. I attempted to explore dark thematic lyrical content with peppy simply hot jazz elements; tapping into barbershop, gypsie jazz, and mariachi. It's raw, dark, and at times dreadful.
